Telepsychiatry Between Meetings
Quick Answer
Most of a psychiatric relationship — the evaluation, medication decisions, and follow-ups — can happen over a secure video link from an office, a car, or home, in a 30- to 60-minute block that fits between meetings. At Bluebird TMS the video visit is the front door: a psychiatrist evaluates you by video anywhere in Colorado, and only the treatments that require the clinic — TMS, SPRAVATO®, ketamine therapy — bring you to the Denver Tech Center in person.
What a video visit needs
A private space, a phone or laptop with a camera, a stable connection, and a link we send; no app or account. You must be physically in Colorado during the visit. Headphones help in a shared office. A parked car with the engine off is a legitimate private room; a moving one is not.
What happens by video
- Evaluation: history, symptoms, prior treatments, goals, and a standardized symptom score, ending with a recommendation.
- Medication management: starting, adjusting, or simplifying medications, with prescriptions sent electronically.
- Follow-ups through a course of treatment: progress checks that do not require a trip to the clinic. See our psychiatry page for the full scope.
What stays in person
TMS and accelerated iTBS sessions, SPRAVATO® visits, and ketamine therapy sessions — the monitored, in-clinic treatments. If your evaluation leads there, the treatment schedule is built around your calendar at the clinic.
Privacy at work
Nothing about a video psychiatry visit is visible to an employer; it is a medical appointment like any other, and you decide what, if anything, to share. Our platform is HIPAA-compliant, and our team never contacts you through a work email or number unless you ask.
Why the video front door matters
It compresses the slowest part of starting treatment — the first appointment — into the same week you decide to act, which for a working professional is often the difference between starting now and starting next quarter.
FAQ
Can I do the evaluation from my office?
Yes, if the space is private. You must be in Colorado during the visit.
Can prescriptions be sent after a video visit?
Yes. Medications your psychiatrist prescribes are sent electronically to your pharmacy, subject to the usual rules for each medication.
Does insurance cover telepsychiatry?
Most plans cover video visits with a psychiatrist; we verify your benefits before the first appointment.
Which treatments cannot be done by video?
TMS, SPRAVATO®, and ketamine therapy are in person at the clinic. Everything around them — evaluation, medication management, follow-ups — can be by video.
Book the evaluation for the gap in your calendar, not the other way around.
